Eovaldi, Cora don't care about Bregman's troll tactics

If Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was trying to get under Nathan Eovaldi's skin when he posted an Instagram story featuring the Boston Red Sox pitcher, it may not have resulted in the expected outcome.

Eovaldi said he hasn't seen the videos and won't let them get in the way of his preparations ahead of starting Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.

"I still have a job to do," he said, according to Eddie Matz of ESPN. "I've got to go out there and pitch my game tomorrow and I can't have any distractions."

Bregman posted a series of videos showing him and teammates George Springer and Jose Altuve hitting back-to-back-to-back home runs off Eovaldi in June when the right-hander still played for the Tampa Bay Rays. He captioned the first story with "lil pregame video work."

Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who was a coach of Bregman's in Houston, said he didn't think players need an extra push to play competitive baseball in the postseason.

"If you need motivation in Game 3 of the ALCS, you better check yourself," Cora said. "Because you win three more games, you go to the show. And that's what should motivate you. Alex has different ways of motivating himself and whatever. I'll leave it at that."

Game 3 of the ALCS is set for Tuesday at 5:09 p.m. ET at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Eovaldi toes the rubber for the Red Sox with lefty Dallas Keuchel getting the ball for the Astros.
