With their season on the line once again, the Atlanta Braves have tabbed Mike Foltynewicz to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in Monday's Game 4 at SunTrust Park.
Manager Brian Snitker made the announcement shortly after the Brave's 6-5 victory to make the series 2-1 and avoid a sweep, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
Foltynewicz will face left-hander Rich Hill, who was chosen as the Dodgers' starter earlier on Sunday in the event of a Game 4, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.
The 27-year-old Foltynewicz started Game 1 against the Dodgers, lasting two innings before being lifted. The right-hander allowed four runs - all earned - on three hits and three walks while striking out five. Despite hitting for himself in the top of the third, Newcomb replaced Foltynewicz on the mound in the bottom of the frame.
Foltynewicz earned his first career All-Star nod this year, authoring an impressive 2.85 ERA over 183 innings and 31 starts.
