Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler pitched like a seasoned vet with ice in his veins during a victory over the Colorado Rockies in Monday's NL West tiebreaker. He allowed only one hit over 6 2/3 innings and even drove in a run of his own at the plate.
After the game, Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw said Buehler is up to the challenge of playing under pressure.
"I don't know how to say this politically correct, but he's got big balls," Kershaw said, according to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.
Kershaw isn't the only one on the squad celebrating Buehler's poise. The young hurler's confidence also impressed Kiké Hernandez.
"We have zero problem with Walker being the cocky motherfucker that he is," Hernandez said, according to Pedro Moura of The Athletic.
He may be cocky, but the 24-year-old backed it up on the field, helping the Dodgers secure their sixth straight NL West title.
