During the eighth inning of Wednesday's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox, Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis accidentally released his bat while swinging at an offering from Steven Wright. The bat then flew over Fenway Park's protective netting and hit a fan on the forehead.
The man was promptly attended to by security, who brought towels and a stretcher, according to The Associated Press. The fan eventually stood up, received applause, and walked to the stretcher.
