The Milwaukee Brewers have struggled every time Chicago Cubs left-hander Jose Quintana has toed the rubber against them in 2018.

That ended on Tuesday.

Outfielder Lorenzo Cain crushed the second pitch of the game into the stands, and Ryan Braun followed that up with a two-run shot later in the inning.

Braun also cranked his second two-run homer of the game in the third inning, extending the Brewers' lead to 5-0.

Prior to Tuesday afternoon, Quintana had thoroughly dominated the Brewers over three starts this season. In 19 innings, he had allowed only two earned runs on nine hits to the Brew Crew (0.95 ERA).

In an otherwise uneven season (4.28 ERA in 120 innings), the Brewers have come to represent a brief respite for Quintana. All good things come to an end, apparently.
