Los Angeles Angels all-star Mike Trout has left the club to attend to a personal family matter, the club announced Monday.
Trout, who is currently dealing with inflammation in his right wrist, is scheduled to to come off the 10-day disabled list Thursday, but the Angels are unsure if he'll be ready to play by then.
The 27-year-old has been out of action since Aug. 1, when he jammed his wrist during a slide. He's since received cortisone injections to deal with nagging soreness.
Trout was up to his usual standards before hitting the DL, posting a 7.6 WAR across 109 games with a slash line of .309/.459/.624. He's also recorded 30 home runs, 60 RBI's and 21 stolen bases in 2018.
