Yankees' Judge not ready to swing bat yet
The New York Yankees will have to wait a bit longer for good news about outfielder Aaron Judge's fractured right wrist.
"I know it's still fractured. It's not healed yet," Judge said, according to Coley Harvey of ESPN.
"(Trainers) just said, 'Hey, every day wake up and see how it feels. And once the pain goes away with certain movements, you can keep progressing.' It's kind of based on how I feel every day."
Judge hasn't swung a bat during his recovery. Despite that, he went through throwing, conditioning, and running drills over the weekend. He was initially expected to be ready for game action three weeks after sustaining the injury.
The slugger suffered a chip fracture when he was hit on the wrist during a game against the Kansas City Royals on July 26.
Prior to the injury, Judge was having a fine season, though not quite on the same level as his 2017 output. In 99 games, he's hit .285/.398/.548 with 26 home runs.
The Yankees have gone 3-5 since Judge was sent to the disabled list, and have lost four straight entering Sunday night's game against the Boston Red Sox.
