The Yankees already told the Orioles that left-handed pitching prospect Justus Sheffield was off the table, and now you can add outfielder Clint Frazier to that list, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred.
Frazier's name has popped up in trade rumors all season long, with the Yankees featuring a crowded major-league outfield without a clear path to playing time for the 23-year-old. However, the Yankees have said they have no interest in dealing him.
Despite the glut of outfielders, Frazier has cracked the Yankees' lineup on occasion in his stints with the big-league club. He's hit .265/.375/.353 in 13 games.
His time in Triple-A has provided a better sample of his skills. He's hitting .312/.391/.577 with 10 home runs in 215 plate appearances this season.
Frazier and Sheffield could both still be moved, but the Yankees aren't expected to deal top prospects for a rental player, even one of Machado's caliber.
