The New York Mets have placed third baseman Todd Frazier on the 10-day disabled list with a left rib cage strain.
Frazier went 1-for-10 and played through the entire weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays before landing on the DL prior to Monday's doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 32-year-old joins a long list of Mets players on the shelf. Jay Bruce and Yoenis Cespedes are still out with lingering injuries while starter Noah Syndergaard is only now making rehab starts on his way back to the mound.
Frazier's first season in Queens has been a bit underwhelming. He's batting .217/.300/.385 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs in 61 games.
The Mets also recalled left-handed pitcher P.J. Conlon and utility infielder Ty Kelly from Triple-A. In a corresponding move, the team optioned righty Chris Flexen to Las Vegas.
