Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora believes the club dodged another bullet with David Price.
The left-hander was diagnosed with a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome after being sent back to Boston earlier this week when he was scratched from Wednesday's start due to reoccurring numbness in his pitching hand.
Cora added that Price will join the Red Sox in New York and will throw a bullpen session Thursday. If he comes through with no issues then Cora is optimistic that Price could make his next start which would likely come Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Red Sox weren't sure what was ailing Price. He left a start in April against the Yankees after just one inning due to numbness in his hand. That sensation occurred once again recently, which prompted the Red Sox to send him back to Boston for further testing.
