Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun took advantage of Chicago Cubs starter Jon Lester's momentary distraction on the mound on Thursday night. As Lester kicked at the dirt, Braun, who had just reached base by walk, stole second base.

But Braun got greedy, and tried to double up by swiping third base not long after. It didn't go nearly as well.

Lester is not known for his ability to hold runners, and Braun tried to exploit that deficiency. Perhaps Braun missed the news that Lester had been practicing his bounce passes in the offseason. Like Icarus of old, Braun flew a little too close to the Sun and was punished for his folly.
