The Toronto Blue Jays' rotation has been pitching much better of late, and it will get an additional boost this weekend.

Right-hander Marcus Stroman is expected to return from a lengthy stint on the disabled list at some point during this weekend's four-game set with the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium, according to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.

Stroman last pitched in the majors on May 8 before he was shut down with right shoulder fatigue. The 27-year-old battled shoulder issues during spring training, and it was apparent something was off after he posted a 7.71 ERA and 1.71 WHIP across his first seven starts. This came after a career year last season, in which he finished seventh in American League Cy Young voting with a 3.09 ERA over 33 appearances.

Toronto's starters own the fourth-best ERA in MLB over the last two weeks, though the team enters play Tuesday sitting 15 games back in the AL East and 12 1/2 back of the second wild-card spot.
