The Toronto Blue Jays placed designated hitter Kendrys Morales on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.
Morales departed Monday's game in the second inning after suffering the injury while running to first base.
The 34-year-old is off to a slow start this season, hitting .227/.280/.364 with one home run and eight strikeouts in eight games.
Left-handed reliever Tim Mayza has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
