An unfortunate foul tip will keep Yadier Molina sidelined until early June.

The St. Louis Cardinals All-Star catcher underwent emergency surgery for a "pelvic injury with traumatic hematoma" and is expected to miss the next four weeks after taking a 102-mph foul ball to the groin during Saturday's game.

Molina laid on the ground for several minutes in immense pain before slowly walking off the field and exiting the game.

"That was a bad one," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said, according to ESPN. "And those ones don't necessarily feel better tomorrow. That was hard to see."

Molina is enjoying another solid season, hitting .272/.292/.456 with six home runs and 17 RBIs in 30 games.
