It didn't take long for Anibal Sanchez to find a new home.
The Atlanta Braves announced Friday the signing of the right-handed pitcher to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sanchez was released Sunday by the Minnesota Twins, a day after they signed Lance Lynn to a one-year contract. The veteran starter's stay in the Twin Cities was brief after signing a one-year, $2.5-million contract with the Twins in February.
While there isn't a clear path for Sanchez to join the Braves' rotation, both Brandon McCarthy and Scott Kazmir have lengthy injury histories, which could open the door for the righty should something flare up.
Sanchez has spent parts of the last six seasons with the Detroit Tigers. His tenure with the club started strong, but he's been a far cry from his stable self since 2015. Over the past three seasons, he's posted a 5.67 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP over 415 2/3 innings.
