Carlos Gonzalez is staying put.

The Colorado Rockies have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal in principle with Gonzalez, though it has yet to be finalized, a source tells MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi.

Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports adds that the deal is worth $8 million.

In October, it was reported that Gonzalez had rejected a four-year extension from the Rockies prior to last season. Around that time, Gonzalez told Nightengale he suffered through sleep issues that may have contributed to a terrible start to the season.

He re-joins an already crowded outfield featuring Charlie Blackmon, David Dahl, Raimel Tapia, Ian Desmond, and the currently sidelined Gerardo Parra.

The 32-year-old outfielder has spent the last nine seasons with the Rockies and has been a generally productive member of the team's offense. In that time, he has hit .292/.351/.521 with 211 home runs and 113 stolen bases, though his speed has eroded since 2013.

Gonzalez opened 2017 mired in the worst stretch of his career, batting only .221 in the first half. He rebounded for a late-season surge, with an especially encouraging September when he hit .377/.484/.766 with six of his 14 total home runs.
