One of the top free agents left on the market has finally found a home.

The Tampa Bay Rays reportedly agreed to a one-year, $4-million deal with outfielder Carlos Gomez, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Gomez can land an extra $500,000 in incentives, according to FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.

The 32-year-old played in 105 games with the Texas Rangers in 2017, putting together respectable numbers by hitting .255/.340/.462 with 17 home runs, 51 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and a wRC+ of 110.

However, it wasn't quite at the level of Gomez's two best - and healthiest - seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. From 2013-14, he hit .284/.347/.491 with 47 home runs and 74 stolen bases, and was named to two National League All-Star squads.

The Rays, meanwhile, have been busy. The signing comes a day after they traded outfielder Steven Souza Jr. to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and not long after dealing pitcher Jake Odorizzi to the Minnesota Twins and designating outfielder Corey Dickerson for assignment.

With Gomez in the fold, the Rays have a fairly speedy foursome of outfielders, with Denard Span, Kevin Kiermaier, and Mallex Smith already on the roster.
