Tim Lincecum has set the date for the next stage of his attempted comeback.
The two-time Cy Young winner will throw for scouts Feb. 15 at Driveline Research Lab in Seattle, the facility's founder and president confirmed Tuesday.
Talk regarding the right-hander's potential return to the majors started in mid-December, when Colorado Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino posted a picture of a jacked Lincecum pitching at Driveline.
Lincecum was one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors from 2008-11. The right-hander went 62-36 with a 2.81 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 977 strikeouts across 132 appearances for the San Francisco Giants. He was a four-time All-Star, two-time NL Cy Young winner, and a World Series champion.
Then things quickly went downhill, as Lincecum posted a 4.94 ERA over the next five seasons. He still managed to throw a pair of no-hitters and the Giants won two more World Series, but he wasn't nearly as dominant or consistent overall. He last pitched in the majors in 2016, going 2-6 with a 9.16 ERA, 2.37 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in nine starts with the Los Angeles Angels.
