The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed reliever David Hernandez to a two-year deal on Tuesday, the team confirmed.
The deal is worth a total of $5 million, according to Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Hernandez posted a 3.11 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts in 55 innings split between the Los Angeles Angels and Arizona Diamondbacks last season.
The 32-year-old is the second free-agent reliever the Reds have signed this winter. They agreed to a two-year, $4.5-million deal with Jared Hughes last month.
Cincinnati marks the fifth different organization for Hernandez.
