Report: Giants, Mariners, Padres among finalists for Ohtani
While many MLB franchises received disappointing news Sunday, a group has emerged as the likely finalists to land two-way Japanese star Shohei Ohtani.
The San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres are each expected to meet with Ohtani and his representatives when the phenom comes to Los Angeles this week, according to ClubhouseCorner's Bernie Pleskoff.
Later on, it was reported that the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Angels will receive meetings with Ohtani as well.

Ohtani is believed to prefer a small-market West Coast team, which could explain why the East Coast powerhouses failed to advance in the negotiation process.
While the Los Angeles Dodgers don't exactly fit the small-market element, they may still be in play as well. They may not, however, be a favorite to sign Ohtani, sources told FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.
