Report: Braves president not involved in rules violations

MLB's investigation into the Atlanta Braves and former general manager John Coppolella's violations regarding the draft and international signing market has reportedly revealed that Coppolella didn't get approval from his superiors to circumvent the rules.

Coppolella acted without the knowledge of president of baseball operations John Hart, a source told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

The team could be facing fines, the loss of draft picks, and loss of international signing pool space. The investigation is expected to be resolved following the World Series.

Through analysis of the team's internal documentation, the league found that neither Hart nor vice chairman John Schuerholz were aware of Coppolella's actions.

Both Coppolella and international scouting director Gordon Blakeley resigned following the regular season.
