After penciling Anthony Rizzo into the leadoff spot Tuesday for the first time in his career, Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon indicated that the change is temporary, telling reporters that Kyle Schwarber is still the "best guy for the job."
Hold your horses, though, skip.
On Wednesday night, after going deep to open up Tuesday's 14-3 shellacking of the New York Mets, Rizzo once again led off with a long ball, notching his second leadoff homer in as many days with a 414-foot blast off Matt Harvey at Citi Field.
Rizzo, a three-time All-Star, is the first Cubs player to crank leadoff homers in consecutive games since Alfonso Soriano in 2007.
