Savage feud between Syndergaard, Mr. Met continues
It appeared, for a time, there was a cessation of hostilities between New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard and the team's aptly named mascot, Mr. Met - in their previous clash, the anthropomorphized baseball owned the 24-year-old right-hander online on Valentine's Day - but it's clear there's still beef in Queens.
Here's how the latest exchange went down:
First, in an unforgivable act of treachery, Syndergaard's mother posed for a photo with her son's nemesis at Citi Field on Opening Day. Not surprisingly, the hard-throwing right-hander was aghast.
Mother! How could you?!?!? pic.twitter.com/VukKt15V80

So, being an unrepentant trash-talker, Mr. Met couldn't resist the opportunity to chirp Syndergaard about it, drolly asking the hurler if he'd like to accompany them to dinner Tuesday night.
Did you want to join us for dinner tonight?! 😃 https://t.co/yVwJf8jnAE

Though the absence of an immediate reply from Syndergaard suggested he'd been too badly owned to muster a comeback, it turns out he was just biding his time. To wit:

Boom. Roasted.
Mess with Thor and you get the hammer, Mr. Met.
