A player coming off a 47 home run season possibly signing with the Colorado Rockies sounds like a match made in heaven.
The Rockies continue to be interested in right fielder Mark Trumbo, sources told Jon Morosi of FOX Sports. The market for sluggers has picked up a bit recently, with Yoenis Cespedes signing in New York and Carlos Beltran going to Houston. Morosi notes that Trumbo's list of suitors should become clearer at the Winter Meetings, which start Sunday.
The hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field could do wonders for Trumbo and the Rockies, especially factoring in Trumbo's fly ball percentage, which has been over 40 percent in each of the past three seasons, according to FanGraphs.
After being traded to the Baltimore Orioles last offseason, the 30-year-old proved to be one of most capable power hitters in the league, as his 108 RBIs ranked him sixth in the AL to go along with a career high .533 slugging percentage.
