The Los Angeles Dodgers will pay homage to one of baseball's most storied legends at the beginning of the 2017 season.
The organization will unveil a finished statue of Jackie Robinson at Dodger Stadium on April 15, according to J.P. Hoornstra of The Orange County Register.
The ceremony, which is to be held on Jackie Robinson Day, will coincide with the 70th anniversary of Robinson's major-league debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers, when he officially broke Major League Baseball's color barrier.
The statue will be approximately 10 feet tall, though the exact place it will stand has yet to be announced.
All fans in attendance at that day's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks will receive a replica statue.
