Yuliett Solarte, wife of Padres' Yangervis, dies at 31
Yuliett Pimentel Solarte, the wife of San Diego Padres third baseman Yangervis Solarte, died Saturday at age 31 due to complications from cancer, the club announced.
Yangervis, who played Wednesday's game in San Francisco before heading back to Florida two days later to be with his wife and their three daughters, acknowledged Saturday on Twitter that Yuliett had passed.
"Simply thank you for all your support. The truth is I have no word to describe this. We had a tough year but I know that she fought," Solarte wrote in Spanish.
Simplemente gracias por todo su apoyo la verdad no tengo palabra para describir esto tuvimos un año duro pero sé que lucho

Solarte will be out indefinitely, though he told the Padres he'd like to play again before the season ends Oct. 2.
"What his family is going through, our thoughts and prayers are with him," Padres manager Andy Green told MLB.com's AJ Cassavell on Friday.
"He's going through stuff that's more important than baseball at this point."
