Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Takes eighth loss against Dodgers
Bumgarner (12-8) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over five innings in a loss Tuesday to the Dodgers.
Analysis:
Bumgarner has been off his game in his past two starts, as he has served up nine earned runs on 15 hits over 10 combined innings. He's still racking up the strikeouts with 13, but he has been bitten by a pair of home runs. Bumgarner has now allowed 20 in 27 starts, and he has a HR/9 above 1.0 for the first time since 2012. He still has a 2.44 ERA, but that's going to keep going up if he can't find a way to keep the ball in the yard.
