Kemp: 'Replay is bad for the game'
Matt Kemp thought he had a triple. The video suggested otherwise.
After being called out at third following a video review in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 8-2 loss in San Francisco - his second time getting burned by the umpiring crew at MLB headquarters in New York in a two-hour span - the San Diego Padres outfielder made it clear he's not a fan of replay.
"Replay is bad for the game," Kemp told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle after his club dropped to 19-28 with a third straight loss.
His frustration is understandable. Five innings earlier, Kemp was on the unenviable end of another replay review, with the umpiring crew ultimately ruling Gregor Blanco safe at the plate despite getting cut down in real time by Kemp's strong throw from left field.
