Astros' Doug Fister: Takes no-decision against Orioles
Fister allowed two runs on three walks and three hits with three strikeouts over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Baltimore.
Analysis:
Fister had a streak of six consecutive quality starts snapped, but even in that relatively strong streak, he had a poor 19:13 K:BB in 38.1 innings and allowed four home runs. He has struck out more than five batters just once this year. Give up that much contact and home runs are inevitable, and he allowed two more Tuesday night to give him eight allowed in nine starts this season, the main driver behind his mediocre 4.12 ERA.
