Washington Nationals closer Jonathan Papelbon is one of the most intimidating players in the majors, and MASN reporter Dan Kolko, for a few brief seconds Wednesday, thought he may be choked out like Bryce Harper was by the veteran last season.
Kolko began his postgame interview by thanking a MASN studio host - whose name is "Johnny Holliday" - for throwing to him. Kolko then addressed the fiery hurler as "Jonathan." This confused Papelbon, who then accuses Kolko of nicknaming him "Johnny Jonathan."
Papelbon then insulted the reporter by making him repeat his question about striking out Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton to secure his sixth save of the season.
It's a good thing Papelbon didn't blow the save, otherwise Kolko may have been served a different fate for getting tongue-tied.
