 The Los Angeles teams enter a three-game series after the Dodgers swept their previous series, winning the three games by an average of 3.0 runs per game. Entering this season, the Angels had won four straight against the Dodgers and had won 11 of the previous 16 meetings.

 The Dodgers took two of three from the Athletics earlier this week and are 7-2 in their last nine games. The Dodgers are the only team in the majors to not have a losing streak of at least three games this season.

 The Angels swept a two-game set in San Diego and have won six of their last seven games. The Angels are 14-6 since Sept. 3, the best record in the majors over that span.

After an onslaught of home runs on Friday night, the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers will try to continue the show again Saturday as the regular season nears its end.
The Angels hit three home runs in the area battle, while the Dodgers hit five. It was hardly expected with a pair of proven left-handers in Andrew Heaney for the Angels and Clayton Kershaw starting in the series opener.

Gonsolin makes pitch for rotation spot for Dodgers vs. Angels

LOS ANGELES (AP)  Mookie Betts exited early after getting hit by a pitch, giving the Dodgers a brief scare with the playoffs approaching, and Los Angeles beat the Angels 7-6 on Saturday night following a power outage in the ballpark.
Joc Pederson hit a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning shortly before the lights went out at Dodger Stadium. The Freeway Series resumed in the top of the seventh after a 25-minute delay.
