 The Phillies have swept a three-game series on the road against an AL team just three times in franchise history, with the most recent coming against the Rays from April 13-15, 2018.  Philadelphia tied a season high with five home runs in Wednesday's 12-3 win at Washington.  Rookie Randy Arozarena went deep twice in Tampa Bay's 8-5 win over the Mets on Wednesday, giving him seven homers in 49 at-bats in September. The franchise record for homers in any month by a Rays rookie is eight, set by Evan Longoria in June 2008.

 The Phillies snapped a six-game road losing streak Wednesday and are just 9-16 away from home this season. Philadelphia's current 5.48 team ERA on the road would be its highest in a season since the 1997 team finished with a 5.49 ERA in away games.

The teams meet for the first time in 2020 this weekend to begin the last three games of the 60-game campaign. The series starts Friday night in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Rays look to finish strong against desperate Phillies

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  Joey Wendle had a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning and the AL East champion Tampa Bay Rays rallied to hurt Philadelphia's playoff hopes, beating the Phillies 6-4 on Friday night.
The Rays would clinch the top seed in the American League with an Oakland loss later Friday night; the A's were hosting Seattle. Tampa Bay is looking to finish with the AL's best record for the second time, after topping the league in 2010.
