 Texas leads the all-time series with Arizona, 24-19, after the teams split a two-game set in July in Arlington. The Diamondbacks are 9-9 in interleague play this year, compared to 11-25 versus NL opponents.

 Each of the Diamondbacks' last 25 games has been decided by four or fewer runs. That's the longest such streak in MLB this year and the longest in franchise history.

 The Rangers' 19-35 (.352) record is the worst in the American League. Since the franchise moved to Texas in 1972, they've finished with the AL's worst record three times: in 1972, 1973 and 2014.

 Over his last seven starts of 2019 with the Brewers, Jordan Lyles was 5-0 with a 1.91 ERA and .201 opponent batting average. In his seven starts with Texas this year, Lyles is 1-5 with a 7.82 ERA and .277 opponent average.

 Kole Calhoun earned NL Player of the Week honors after going 11-for-24 (.458) with six homers and 12 RBI in six games last week, all on the road. He's the third Arizona player all-time to have at least six HR and 12 RBI over a span of six team games, joining Reggie Sanders (2001) and J.D. Martinez (2017).

Two of the worst teams in the majors square off Tuesday night when the Texas Rangers visit the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opening contest of a two-game series in Phoenix.
The Rangers (19-35) own the worst record in the American League, while the Diamondbacks (20-34) are ahead of only the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League.

Rangers' Lyles aims for win streak against D-backs

PHOENIX (AP)  Carson Kelly had a three-run homer, Caleb Smith and Riley Smith combined to throw a six-hitter and the Arizona Diamondbacks rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
David Peralta had three hits, including a double. Eduardo Escobar added two singles and Nick Ahmed had a triple for the Diamondbacks.
