 The Braves scored a modern franchise-record 29 runs the last time these teams met on September 9, in a 29-9 victory. Atlanta is 32-12 (.727) against the Marlins since the start of 2018, the best record by any National League team against a divisional opponent over that span.

 Atlanta leads the majors in runs per game (5.85) and OPS (.837) while ranking second in home runs (93; Dodgers, 100) and batting average (.269; Mets, .275). The Braves' 45 home runs this month are the most in franchise history in the month of September.

 Miami had won three straight before a 15-0 setback in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with Washington. It's the first time the Marlins have ever lost multiple games by 15+ runs in a season (along with the 29-9 loss to Atlanta earlier this month).

 Brian Anderson registered the third three-homer game in franchise history in Friday's 14-3 win over the Nationals. He joins Mike Lowell (April 21, 2004 vs. Phillies) and Cody Ross (September 11, 2006 vs. Mets).

 Trevor Rogers is one of six different rookie pitchers to have started a game for the Marlins this year, tied with Boston for the most in in the majors. Miami's 23 total starts from rookie pitchers are also tied for the most in MLB, with Kansas City.

 Atlanta has three players among the NL's OPS leaders in Freddie Freeman (1.097, second), Ronald Acuna Jr. (1.037, third) and Marcell Ozuna (1.005, fifth). The Braves have never finished a season with more than one qualifying player with a 1.000+ OPS.
