 These clubs meet for the first time since 2018, when the Cubs swept a three-game set at Wrigley Field. Chicago scored a total of 35 runs in that series, its most ever in a three-game series against an interleague opponent.

 The Cubs took both games against the Indians Tuesday and Wednesday, lifting them to a season-high 10 games over .500. Chicago has won seven of its last nine games, led by a pitching staff that has a 1.88 ERA over that span.

 The Twins dropped three of four at Guaranteed Rate Field against the White Sox, falling to 10-16 (.385) on the road. With an MLB-best 21-5 (.808) record at home, Minnesota has baseball's second-largest home-over road win percentage difference at +.423 (Hou, +.440).

 Anthony Rizzo is hitless this season in 16 plate appearances with two outs and a runner in scoring position. Over the previous five seasons, Rizzo had 108 RBI in those situations with a .443 on-base percentage.

 Byron Buxton has hit seven home runs in nine games since Sept. 7, tied for the most in the majors (Luke Voit, NYY). Buxton had previously never hit more than five home runs in any nine-game span in his career.

 The Twins have the third-best interleague record in baseball this season at 10-4 (.714), while the Cubs' 9-5 (.643) interleague record puts them fourth (LAD, 11-3, .786; SDP, 11-4, .733).

The Chicago Cubs and visiting Minnesota Twins will compete for a series win in the rubber match of a three-game set Sunday night at Wrigley Field.
Chicago (31-21) won Friday's series opener 1-0, and the Twins bounced back for a resounding 8-1 win in the second game Saturday night. The win clinched a Twins playoff berth for the second year in a row along with securing the team's third postseason appearance in the past four years.

Cubs look to take series from playoff-bound Twins

CHICAGO (AP)  Max Kepler homered, Jose Berrios threw six shutout innings to outduel Yu Darvish and the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago Cubs 4-0 on Sunday night.
Kepler had three hits and Josh Donaldson added two for the Twins, who took two of three from the NL Central-leading Cubs.
