 Miami is 3-2 against the Nationals this year, with all five games played in Nationals Park. The Marlins were just 4-15 versus Washington in 2019 and haven't won the season series between the teams since 2011 (11-7).

 The Marlins are 17-10 (.630) on the road this year but just 8-13 (.381) at home -- the largest win percentage difference by any MLB team, where road is better (.249). Miami is averaging about a run and a half more per game on the road (5.15) than at home (3.57).

 Among MLB pitchers with at least 30 innings this season, Erick Fedde ranks last in strikeout rate (4.1 K/9) and strikeout-walk ratio (0.89; the only one under 1.00). He had a season-high five strikeouts in 5.0 innings last Friday against Atlanta (no decision in 8-7 win).

 Corey Dickerson is hitting .382 with a 1.123 OPS in 18 career games versus the Nationals. He's hit safely in each of the last 15 of those games, the longest active hit streak by any player against Washington.

The Washington Nationals on Friday will open their final road series of the year -- a five-game set against the Miami Marlins to be played in just three days.
That includes doubleheaders on Friday and Sunday, which likely means the Marlins will be facing Nationals star left fielder Juan Soto a lot this weekend.

MIAMI (AP)  Brian Anderson circled the bases so quickly after his second home run Friday that he nearly overtook Jesus Aguilar, who playfully motioned his teammate to slow down.
