 The Twins are 4-3 against Cleveland this season, including winning the first series at Target Field, 3-1, from July 30 to August 2. Minnesota outscored Cleveland, 10-2, in the last three games of the series, the fewest runs the Indians have scored in any three-game stretch this season.

 Cleveland comes into the series following three straight losses to Kansas City. The Indians have just one four-game losing streak this season from July 31 to August 3, which included three defeats in Minnesota.

 The Twins have won six of their last seven home games, with all those coming against division foes Chicago and Detroit. Minnesota's 18-5 home record (.783) is the best in baseball and the Twins' best start to a season at home since 2001 (also 18-5).

 Franmil Reyes has gone just 3-for-23 over his last seven games (.130), recording three singles in that time. Reyes was batting .336 through September 2nd, second-best in the American League behind DJ LeMahieu (.392 -- min. 100 PA).

 Nelson Cruz is batting .500 so far in September (12-for-24), and is one of just two players hitting .500 or better this month (min. 20 PA; DJ Stewart - Bal), though he's struggled against Indians pitching in 2020, going just 4-for-25 (.160), failing to reach base in his last 10 plate appearances against Cleveland (5 K's).

 Shane Bieber is off to a 7-0 start this season, including a pair of wins over the Twins already. He was on the mound for Cleveland's only win at Target Field this year (2-0 on July 30), allowing no runs on just three hits in eight innings. That's the only time the Twins have failed to score in their last 39 home games.

The Cleveland Indians will turn to right-hander Zach Plesac to try and snap their four-game losing streak when they face the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night in Minneapolis.
Plesac (3-1) has won his last three starts, and his 1.32 ERA and 0.74 WHIP are even better than teammate and Cy Young Award front-runner Shane Bieber (7-1, 1.53 ERA, 0.87 WHIP). Bieber took his first loss of the season Friday night in a series-opening, 3-1 setback to the Twins.

Indians' Plesac takes hot streak into start at Minnesota
