 These teams are facing off for the first time since Cleveland won three of four meetings in 2018. Cleveland is 8-4 with a 2.70 ERA in interleague play this year, after going 8-12 with a 4.79 ERA against the NL in 2019.

 The Indians' 5-0 win in Kansas City on Wednesday was their MLB-high sixth shutout of the season. They lead the AL with a 2.74 ERA, which is the club's lowest through 37 games in a season since 1972 (2.52).

 Milwaukee is 6-4 over its last 10 games, averaging 6.2 runs in the six wins (37/6) and just 0.8 runs in the four losses (3/4). For the season the Brewers average 2.2 runs per game in losses, third fewest in MLB.

 Christian Yelich is hitting .324 with a .521 on-base percentage in 11 interleague games this year, reaching base safely in all 11 games (via hit, BB or HBP). He has a .159 batting average and .253 on-base percentage against NL opponents.

 Franmil Reyes went 10-for-13 (.769) with a homer, four doubles and two RBI in the Indians' three-game series with the Royals this week. His batting average is up to .336 for the season, second best in the American League to Tim Anderson of the White Sox (.347).

 Carlos Carrasco is 5-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 11 interleague appearances (eight starts) since 2018, with 66 strikeouts (11.7 per 9 IP) and just one home run allowed. That includes a pair of starts against Milwaukee in 2018 in which he went 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA (3/16.0).

Milwaukee closer Josh Hader allowed his first hit of the season, and then gave up Cesar Hernandez's game-winning single in the ninth inning as the Cleveland Indians beat the Brewers 4-3 on Saturday night.
