 Toronto has won eight of the last nine games in this series, including a sweep of a three-game set from August 17-19 in Baltimore. The Blue Jays have averaged 7.2 runs and 2.4 homers over the nine games.

 The Blue Jays had played seven straight games decided by one or two runs before Wednesday's 9-1 defeat of the Red Sox. Toronto has played an MLB-high 19 games decided by two or fewer runs, going 9-10 in those games.

 Baltimore lost back-to-back games at Tampa Bay this week after entering the series with an eight-game road winning streak. The Orioles' 8-3 (.727) road record is second best in the majors (Dodgers, 13-4, .765), as is their 6.3 runs per game in road contests (Nationals, 7.1).

 Hanser Alberto's .404 road batting average this season ranks second among players with at least 50 road plate appearances, behind the Mets' Robinson Cano (.409). Alberto has hit safely in all 11 road games, and in 13 straight on the road going back to last year.

 Rowdy Tellez registered his first multi-homer game of the season on Wednesday. He is batting .481 (13/27) with five homers, 12 RBI and a 1.593 OPS in eight games at Sahlen Field, compared to a .114 average (5/44) with a home run, five RBI and a .420 OPS everywhere else.

 Hyun Jin Ryu is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA and .137 opponent batting average over his last four outings. He's the third pitcher in Blue Jays history to have four straight starts with 5.0+ IP, one or fewer runs allowed and four or fewer hits allowed, joining Dave Stieb (1988-89, five straight) and J.A. Happ (2016).

The Baltimore Orioles' road show had been a hit until it faltered in Florida and then bombed in Buffalo, temporary home of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Orioles will try to revive that road success Sunday afternoon in the third game of a four-game series.

Orioles look to recapture road magic vs. Jays

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)  Teoscar Hernandez hit a two-run single with two out in the ninth inning, lifting the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.
Hernandez came up with the bases loaded and grounded a single into left field. Pinch runner Santiago Espinal scored easily and Randal Grichuk slid in safely just ahead of the throw by left fielder Mason Williams.
