 These teams will play a doubleheader at Citi Field today, with the Mets serving as the home team in Game 1, and the Marlins in Game 2. The Mets haven't played since a three-game sweep of the Marlins ending last Wednesday (positive COVID-19 tests); they are 5-1 against Miami this year.

 The Mets are hitting an MLB-best .304 since August 12, averaging 6.5 runs and 2.1 homers per game over that span. They had a .252 batting average and scored 3.9 runs per game this season prior to August 12.

 Miami had a season-high 17 hits in yesterday's 11-8 win over Washington, with all nine starters scoring at least one run. The Marlins have averaged 5.1 runs on the road this year, versus 3.2 per game at home.

 Corey Dickerson ran his hit streak to nine games yesterday, with his first three-hit game of the season. He's batting .375 (12/32) out of the cleanup position this year, compared to .205 (9/44) in all other spots in the lineup.

 Over his last 30 games against Miami, Michael Conforto is batting .362 (38/105) with 13 home runs, 27 RBI, 28 runs scored and a 1.292 OPS. He's reached base safely (via hit, BB or HBP) in the last 21 of those games.

 Jacob deGrom threw 6.0 shutout innings against the Marlins last Wednesday, getting no decision in a 5-3 Mets victory. It was his 15th outing since the start of the 2018 season with at least 6.0 innings pitched and no runs allowed, tied with Hyun Jin Ryu for the most in baseball.

NEW YORK (AP)  Rookie left-handers Dan Castano and Trevor Rogers gave Miami good starts and the Marlins went on to pitch a pair of seven-inning shutouts, completing a doubleheader sweep of the New York Mets with a 3-0 win Tuesday night.
Rogers, making his major league debut, and two relievers combined on a four-hitter in the nightcap. The Marlins won the opener 4-0 as Castano and the bullpen worked around eight hits.
