 Houston is 12-2 in its last 14 home games against the Angels going back to September 2018, averaging 7.2 runs and 2.0 homers over that span, with at least one home run in all 14 games.

 The Astros were swept by the Padres in San Diego over the weekend, despite scoring in the top of the first inning in all three games. Houston has held a lead in 10 of its 13 losses this year (76.9 percent), the highest such percentage by any MLB team.

 The Angels' 9-20 record is the worst in team history through 29 games in a season. They've lost nine of their last 11 games, with their starting pitchers posting an 8.06 ERA over that span.

Cooled off along the Pacific Ocean over the weekend, the Houston Astros will return home, where they have been known to turn on the heat. A four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels begins Monday.
The Astros were swept in a three-game series in San Diego against the upstart Padres, but in the cozy confines of Minute Maid Park they have won six consecutive games. Houston was on an eight-game winning streak overall upon arrival in San Diego.

Astros hope to get back to winning as Angels visit

HOUSTON (AP)  Before Dusty Baker became manager of the Houston Astros. he heard that left-hander Framber Valdez had all the weapons, but just needed to get it all together and find the strike zone.
In the last month, the 26-year-old has been able to do just that and it's helped steady a rotation that has been hit hard by injuries.
