 Oakland has a 17-9 edge in this series since the start of last season, though the Angels won two of three games when they last met from August 10-12 in Anaheim.

 Oakland's 18-8 record is the best in the American League, and the best 26-game start by the franchise since being 20-6 in 1990 -- a year the A's would go on to win the third of three straight AL pennants.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)  Mark Canha hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, and the Oakland Athletics beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-4 on Sunday.
Matt Olson made the last out of the ninth, but Franklin Barreto came in to run for him at the start of the 10th. After Matt Chapman singled Barreto to third, the Angels brought the infield in before Canha hit a high fly to center off Ty Buttrey (1-1). Mike Trout made the catch but Barreto scored without a throw.
