 The Yankees have won six in a row since dropping three out of four games at Tampa Bay from August 7-9. New York has won the season series between the teams each of the past five years (from 2015-19).

 New York is 10-0 at home this season, matching the longest home win streak to open a season in franchise history (also 1951 and 1987). The Yankees' 24 home runs at home are tied for the fourth most all-time by an MLB team in its first 10 home games of the year (most ever by Yankees).

 The Rays and Yankees are two of three MLB teams to have improved their records in each of the past three seasons, along with the Braves. And with wins in eight of its last nine games, Tampa Bay's 2020 win percentage (.609) is now higher than 2019 (.593).

 Luke Voit picked up his first multi-homer game of the season in yesterday's 6-3 win over Boston, extending his hit streak to seven games. Voit (7) and Aaron Judge (9) are the only MLB teammates this year with at least seven home runs each.

The Tampa Bay Rays are proving so difficult for the New York Yankees to shake that they are on the verge of a rare occurrence at Yankee Stadium.
The Rays can get their first series sweep of the Yankees in New York in more than six years Thursday afternoon when the American League East rivals conclude their three-game series.

Rays go for rare sweep at Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK (AP)  The Tampa Bay Rays completed their first sweep at Yankee Stadium in six years and took over first place in the AL East, getting a three-run homer from Mike Zunino in a 10-5 victory over New York on Thursday.
Tampa Bay beat the Yankees for the sixth time in seven meetings in the abbreviated 10-game season series. The Rays also became the first team to sweep a three-game series at Yankee Stadium since Cleveland on Aug. 28-30, 2017. Tampa Bay previously swept series of three games or more at New York in 2013 and 2014.
