Minnesota took two of three at Milwaukee Aug. 10-12, homering seven times in the three-game series. The Twins have homered in eight straight games against the Brewers, their longest active homer streak against any team. The Twins last homered in eight consecutive games against the Brewers between 2005-06, and the only nine-game homer streak against them spanned the 1994-95 seasons.

The Brewers have won three in a row, rallying from early 3-0 deficits in their Saturday and Sunday wins over the Cubs. Milwaukee has a major league-worst minus-28 scoring differential (4 to 32) through two innings, while Minnesota's plus-24 run differential (42-18) after two innings trails only Houston at plus-25.

Twins outfielders have hit 18 homers - second only to the Dodgers' 19 in MLB. Brewers outfielders, meanwhile, have six home runs in 20 games and only the Cardinals (five in 10 games), Indians (four in 22 games) and Marlins (two in 16 games) have fewer.

Minnesota leads the majors in scoring a runner from third with fewer than two outs via an RBI, converting 67.6 percent of its opportunities (23-for-34). Milwaukee, meanwhile, is allowing opponents to score from third with fewer than two outs via an RBI 62.9 percent of the time (22-for-35) -- the fourth worst rate in MLB.

Christian Yelich is just 1-for-17 in the first inning this season, and that .059 batting average is second lowest in MLB among the 74 players with at least 15 first-inning plate appearances. Only Oakland's Ramon Laureano has a lower first-inning batting average at .056 (1-for-18).

Nelson Cruz homered twice in Monday's 4-1 win over the Royals, to give him 29 hits, eight home runs and an AL-leading 23 RBI. In 35 August games from the 2019 and '20 seasons, Cruz has a .383/.448/.742 slash line with 13 home runs and 39 RBI.

Left-hander Rich Hill will come off the injured list to make his second start of the season on Wednesday when the Minnesota Twins face the Milwaukee Brewers in the second game of a three-game series in Minneapolis.
The 40-year-old Hill (1-0, 0.00 ERA) was outstanding in his Minnesota debut back on July 29, holding the visiting St. Louis Cardinals to two hits and a walk over five innings in a 3-0 victory. He threw 68 pitches, 41 for strikes.

Twins' Hill to come off IL, take on Brewers

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)  Christian Yelich hit one of Milwaukee's four homers, Brett Anderson pitched six strong innings and the Brewers beat the Minnesota Twins 9-3 on Wednesday night.
Avisail Garcia, Ryan Braun and Keston Hiura also homered as Milwaukee tied a season high in runs and home runs a night after nearly being no-hit by Minnesota's Kenta Maeda. The Brewers also drew seven walks.
