 Tampa Bay swept the Red Sox this week by scores of 8--7, 8--2, 9--5 and 17--8.  The Rays became the first visiting team ever to sweep four games at Fenway Park while scoring eight or more runs in every game.

 There was an average of one home run per 14.2 at-bats in the first two games at Sahlen Field. For perspective (small sample aside), that's higher than the career home-run rates of Harmon Killebrew (one per 14.2 AB), Sammy Sosa (14.5), Ted Williams (14.8), and Manny Ramirez (14.9).

 The Rays dominated the Blue Jays over the past two seasons (2018--19), winning 26 of their 38 meetings (.684), including an 11--8 record on the road.

 Tanner Roark is one of only six pitchers to start at least 30 games in each of the past four seasons.  The others: Jon Lester (12 straight), Jose Quintana (7), Julio Teheran (7), Rick Porcello (4), Justin Verlander (4).

 Bo Bichette, who homered in each of his last three games, has 37 extra-base hits in 58 major-league games. The only players with more XBH than Bichette in their first 60 games are Joe DiMaggio (46), Yordan Alvarez (40), Ted Williams (38) and Cody Bellinger (38).

 Yandy Diaz is tied for 4th in the AL with 14 walks. Diaz has swung at only 33% of pitches this season, compared to 43% over his three previous years in the majors.

The Tampa Bay Rays have grown accustomed to lighting up the scoreboard, and they look to do so again on Friday when they begin a three-game series versus the Toronto Blue Jays in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Rays extended their winning streak to six games on Thursday with a 17-8 rout of the Red Sox in Boston. All told, Tampa Bay set franchise records in runs (42), hits (59) and extra-base hits (24) during a four-game series against the Red Sox.

Roark, Blue Jays will have hands full with explosive Rays

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)  Teoscar Hernandez hit two of Toronto's six home runs, Bo Bichette connected for the fourth straight game and the Blue Jays kept knocking balls out of their new Buffalo park, beating the Tampa Bay Rays 12-4 Friday night.
Along with their seven homers in a 14-11 loss to Miami on Wednesday night at Sahlen Field, Toronto became the fourth team in major league history to hit at least six homers in back-to-back games. The Blue Jays joined the Dodgers (1996), Angels (2003) and Washington (2012).
