 The Brewers and Twins split four games last season. In those four contests, Milwaukee hit .233 with seven extra-base hits and seven runs scored in innings 1-6, and .292 with eight extra-base hits and 12 runs scored in the seventh inning or later.

 The Twins lead the majors with 19 first-inning runs -- six more than the next-closest team in the Yankees. The Brewers, meanwhile, have plated just one run in the first inning -- tied for the fewest in MLB with a Cardinals team that has played eight fewer games.

 Christian Yelich had a two-out triple and a two-out homer in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Reds. He is batting .375 (6-for-16) with three home runs, a double and a triple with two outs this season compared to .032 (1-for-31) with a homer with less than two outs.

Right-hander Tyler Clippard (0-0, 1.17 ERA) will be the opener, making his second start of the season. His first one on Aug. 2 couldn't have gone any better, as he led a parade of six Twins pitchers in two-hitting the Cleveland Indians 3-1 in Minneapolis.

With losing streak over, Twins eye more relief vs. Brewers

MILWAUKEE (AP)  Eddie Rosario and the Minnesota Twins needed one big hack to get back in the swing of things.
Rosario hit a grand slam in the third inning, Randy Dobnak turned in another solid outing and the Twins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Monday night to snap a four-game skid.
