 Texas had a 10-9 edge in this series last season, including a 7-3 record at home. The Rangers are the only MLB team without a divisional win so far in 2020 (0-3, swept by Oakland this week).

 Mike Trout hit 11 homers in 18 games against Texas last year, setting a franchise record for home runs against a single opponent in a season. He leads all active players in career home runs (36), RBI (105) and runs scored (125) against the Rangers franchise.

 Todd Frazier has put together three straight multi-hit games, raising his average from .192 before the Oakland series to the current .289. He last had four consecutive multi-hit games in May 2015 with the Reds.

Former high school rivals Patrick Sandoval of the Los Angeles Angels and Kolby Allard of the Texas Rangers will match up for the first time as major leaguers when they take the mound on Saturday evening in Arlington, Texas.
Sandoval graduated from Mission Viejo High School in 2015, the same year Allard graduated from San Clemente High School. Both left-handers played in the six-team South Coast League in South Orange County, Calif.

Former prep rivals square off as Rangers host Angels

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)  Joey Gallo hit a two-run homer after missing a game with a sore right wrist, six Texas pitchers combined on a four-hitter and the Rangers have consecutive wins for the first time this season after beating the Los Angeles Angels 2-0 on Saturday night.
Gallo texted manager Chris Woodward early in the day to let him know he was feeling better and ready to get back in the lineup after an injection for the pain.
