 The Athletics and Mariners are dead-even in the 328 games they have played at Seattle with 164 wins apiece. But the M's hold a 103--89 home-field edge against the A's since opening T-Mobile Park in 1999—known, of course, as Safeco Field until last season.

 Bob Melvin is a familiar face in the opposing dugout, and the Mariners have fared well against him. Seattle's total of 93 wins over Melvin (93-74) trails only Mike Scioscia (164-191) and Tom Kelly (97-79).

 Khris Davis is the first Athletics player to go hitless in his first 15 at-bats of a season since Tyler Ladendorf went 0-for-15 to start 2016. If Davis extends his streak, it will be the longest by an A's player since Coco Crisp went 26 ABs without a hit to start the 2015 season.

Skid stopped, A's continue search for offense vs. Seattle

SEATTLE (AP)  Ramon Laureano broke out of a slump with a three-run homer, Chris Bassitt became the first Oakland starter to earn a victory this season and the Athletics beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Sunday.
Laureano's two-out home run snapped a string of 23 1/3 innings by Mariners starters without allowing an earned run and helped the A's win their second game in a row after a three-game losing streak.
