 The Athletics and Mariners are dead-even in the 328 games they have played at Seattle with 164 wins apiece. But the M's hold a 103--89 home-field edge against the A's since opening T-Mobile Park in 1999—known, of course, as Safeco Field until last season.

 Bob Melvin is a familiar face in the opposing dugout, and the Mariners have fared well against him. Seattle's total of 93 wins over Melvin (93-74) trails only Mike Scioscia (164-191) and Tom Kelly (97-79).

 Khris Davis is the first Athletics player to go hitless in his first 15 at-bats of a season since Tyler Ladendorf went 0-for-15 to start 2016. If Davis extends his streak, it will be the longest by an A's player since Coco Crisp went 26 ABs without a hit to start the 2015 season.

When the Seattle Mariners called up Kyle Lewis last September, he hit home runs in his first three major-league games, joining Colorado's Trevor Story as the only players to accomplish that feat.
The Seattle Mariners outfielder has shown early in this pandemic-delayed season that September was no fluke. Lewis has a hit in each of Seattle's eight games this season, with multiple hits in each of his past six.

SEATTLE (AP)  After seeing most of the last two seasons wiped out by Tommy John surgery, Taijuan Walker was more than ready to experience the feeling of a victory again.
He did so after one of the more impressive outings in his entire career.
