 The Marlins and Phillies split their 10 games at Citizens Bank Park last season, after going 2-8 there in 2018. Miami hasn't won its season series at Philadelphia since 2009, when the Marlins went 7--2 at CBP in the Phillies' NL championship season.

 New Phillies manager Joe Girardi was 41 years old—and just three years removed from his final season as a player (with STL in 2003) when he made his MLB managerial debut for the Marlins in 2006.

The Philadelphia Phillies will hand the ball to right-hander Aaron Nola for the third consecutive season on Opening Day when they host the Miami Marlins on Friday.
Nola went 12-7 with a 3.87 ERA in 34 starts last season, and he has compiled an impressive 2.74 ERA in last 50 starts at home. Nola is 3-6 with a 3.28 ERA in 13 career outings against the Marlins.

PHILADELPHIA (AP)  Jesus Aguilar helped put the Miami Marlins in unfamiliar territory.
Aguilar hit a two-run homer off Aaron Nola, Sandy Alcantara pitched neatly into the seventh and the Marlins beat the Phillies 5-2 Friday night, spoiling manager Joe Girardi's first game in Philadelphia.
